Merkanti Reef

The Merkanti reef in Sliema is a boat dive ideal also for beginner or inexperienced divers

The Merkanti Reef is a very popular dive site in Sliema situated just outside the Neptune’s water polo club. The Merkanti Reef dive offers a calm and shallow reef of 18m maximum depth and is a perfect dive for beginners.

The Merkanti Reef can be reached by shore if you are a good swimmer otherwise reaching the dive by boat is recommended.

The reef is full of colour and is covered in Neptunes grass; marine life includes Moray eel, octopus, rockfish, nooks, crannies and bream. The reef provides a hiding space to many fish species offering great underwater photography.
