Privatisation of the postal service

The postal service in Malta is granted mainly by MaltaPost, the only company that has the license to operate the Universal Service Provider of postal services.
Before 1998, the postal service was a government entity; however, the sector was privatised to ensure a better efficiency and quality of service.
