Marsaskala Nights

Salt pans, towers and great entertainment

The Marsaskala Nights (or Iljieli Skalin) are being held from Friday the 7th of October until Sunday 9th. The Local Council is holding this activity to share knowledge and raise awareness amongst the visitors regarding St. Thomas Tower, Mamo Tower and the salt pans found in the locality. 

The cultural activities will be held in front of St Thomas Tower, in an area that holds hundreds of salt pans. Inside this historical building, there will be various exhibitions.   

The programme is as follows:

Friday 7th: from 18:00 - Dancing, piano playing and choir singing 

Saturday 8th: from 18:00 - Salt pans will be illuminated by torches, a video regarding the salt pans around Malta & Gozo will be presented, while a dancing and singing exhibition by Dreams Group will start at 20:00. 

Sunday 9th: from 09:00 - In Guardia re-Enactment showing historical episodes from the times of the Knights, organized by the Malta Tourism Authority, dances by MKLeisure. 

During the Marsaskala Nights, you can embark on the fun train that will take you to many historical buildings in Marsaskala.
