The Feast of St. Catherine is celebrated annually in the town of Zurrieq in the south of Malta. For a whole week, Zurrieq enjoys a festive mood, as it is completely decorated in colourful lights, statues and other street decorations. There are brass band marches happening every evening on the days prior to the festa, accompanied by the traditional fireworks, toghether with the nougat and ice-cream stalls distributed around the village.
