The Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady is celebrated annually in the town of Victoria (Rabat) in Gozo. For a whole week, the town enjoys a cheerful and festive mood, as it is wholly decorated in colourful lights and festoons. Brass band marches take place every evening on the days prior to the festa, accompanied by the traditional fireworks, toghether with the nougat and ice-cream stalls distributed around the village.
