A Hands-On introduction to marine biology A stimulating three (3) day course organised by the AquaBioTech Group in Malta, including lectures on marine biology, the underwater life and the formation of the Mediterranean Sea led by Prof. Alan Deidun. SCUBA diving and snorkelling sessions with PADI certified instructors and marine biologists. Course schedule Day 1 : 1st & 2nd Lecture (Duration 4.5 Hours) 2.00pm - The coastal environment, habitats, vertical and horizontal zonation, species adaptations 4.30pm - Overview of the major marine habitats and species within Mediterranean Day 2 : 3rd & 4th Lecture (Duration 4.5 Hours) 2.00pm - Plankton and major physical phenomena in the sea 4.30pm - Introduction to impact ecology - overview of human impacts on the marine environment Day 3 : Field Activity Participants can choose one of the following activities
A maximum number of twenty (20) people will be able to attend each course. The course will take place in Mosta, Malta at the AquaBioTech Group 's premises. The dive and the snorkeling activities will take place in open water.
