In Guardia Parade - watch the inspection of the garrison

At the In Guardia Parade of the first of April, 2012, you can see the re-enactment of an authentic event that used to happen quite regularly inside Fort St. Elmo during the time of the Knights of St. John.

The re-enactment shows the inspection of the fort and its garrison by the Grand Bailiff of the Order of the Knights of St. John who was the person in charge for the military affairs of the order. During this show, the soldiers and Knights will all be dressed in the finest uniforms of the time. They will also perform a military drill to show the Grand Bailiff their readiness to act in the event of a military threat.

The In Guardia Parade starts at 11:00 and lasts for 40 minutes. You can visit the rest of the Fort only before the event, so make sure to arrive a bit earlier and explore this historical site.
