The Mediterranea Festival in Gozo, come and celebrate with, music, theater, culture and of course food and drinks

The Mediterranea Festival is celebrating 700 years of culture during 27 th October and 19th November 2011 on the beautiful island of Gozo. This event seeks to show Gozo in all its aspects to the visitors and   show the cultural and artistic side. Mediterranea Festival presents classical and symphonic music, operas, historical sites and much more that is very important to  Gozo's heritage.

Thursday 27 October:
Vincenzo Bellini's Norma
Opera with the participation of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, Teatru Astra Opera Chorus and international main singers.

Site visit to St George's Basilica

The vines of San Mitri
A visit to the vineyards of this boutique winery, an organic project, run by a family residing in Gharb. The visit includes the sampling of high-quality wines produced from these fields as well as home-made delicacies.

Approaching the End of the Order of St John on Malta
A lecture by leading historian Victor Mallia-Milanes, Professor in the Department of History at the University of Malta.
The talk will discuss the views of two contemporary Venetian Hospitallers - one residing in Malta, the other in Venice.

Baroque to Romantic: Gozo's Masterpieces
An on-site lecture celebrating art in Gozo spanning three centuries, led by Mr Mark Sagona. This on-site lecture, by artist and art-historian Mark Sagona, intends to highlight key works produced between the early 17th Century and the late 19th Century. | 09.00hrs - 13.00hrs.
