The Malta International Choir Festival 2011

Watch the Malta International Choir Festival and become enchanted by the angelic voices presented this year

The Malta International Choir Festival take place in different locations in Malta and Gozo with choirs from all over the world coming together. This year’s festival is estimated to be the biggest one so far with a large number of participants, in 2009 over 550 choristers participating amongst twenty international choirs and this year these numbers will increase.

Different styles and ensembles will perform and this is your chance to learn about music from other countries, meet other people and socialize, experience other culture and religion, singing together with other music lovers and simply having a great time.

The Malta International Choir Festival 2011 is divided into an optional competitive part as well as performance according to preference by the choir. The public is invited to various outdoor locations on Friday 4th November to a Peace Ceremony that will be held between choirs of different denominations inside St. John’s Co-Cathedral.

The day after on Satuday 5th November, the public is invited to the performance at the historic Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta, together with the participation of Malta’s National Philharmonic Orchestra.

Sunday 6th Novermber is the last day of the festival with the closing ceremony will be held at the Catholic Institute, where participating choirs will be presented with awards and certificates.
