Visit Hamrun and enjoy the vibrant atmosphereThe Feast of St. Gaetan is celebrated anually in Hamrun in Malta. The week priort to the festa is full of festive events while the town is decorated in colourful lights and festoons. Brass bands play cheerful marches that are accompanied by colourful aerial and ground fireworks. While you're there, you can also try some traditional nougat and good ice-cream from the many stalls distributed around the village. The feast is very popular for its ‘Marċ tal-brijju' (or 'festive march') which is held on the morning of the day of the feast. The rivalry that exists between Hamrun's two main band clubs makes this celebration one of the most exciting festivities in the whole of Malta, so if you want to experience Maltese culture at its best, make sure not to miss the St. Gaetan feast! |
