Surfing in Malta, find breaks and join the local surfers community

Bring your surfboard and hit the waves

Even though most people do not think it is possible to surf in Malta, there are actually several surf spots around, for both beginners and experienced surfers. There are several unexplored surf spots in Malta but some of the common ones are Golden Bay, Mellieha Bay, Bahar Ic-Caghaq, Ghajn Tuffieha, Imgiebah, Marsaxlokk (San Tumas), Selmun, and Marsalforn, Qbajjar and Ramla Bay in Gozo. The most accessible surf areas in Malta are Golden Bay, are at  Ghajn Tuffieha and Mellieha Bay, which are suitable for all levels and have sandy bottoms.

Unfortunately, there are no surf schools in Malta and no places that rent out surf boards, so if you’d like to surf during your holiday, make sure that you bring your own equipment.
