Dwejra Country Walk

Take a walk around Mosta and enjoy a breath of fresh air

The Dwejra country walk starts of from Mgarr and finishes off at Pjazza Rotunda in Mosta taking you through Mgarr, Bingemma and Dwejra Lines, and then Speranza Valley to Mosta.

Attractions - Countryside Walks Dwejra

In the first part of the walk you will pass through the small village of Bingemma and where you will come across Our Lady of Itria Chapel that was built by the Xara family in 1685. It stands on the top of a cliff overlooking Mgarr with beautiful views. As you are doing the Dwejra country walk you will have very nice countryside views along the Dwejra Lines and Victoria Lines so take the time to have a close look at the fauna around the rocks as there is a lot to discover.

The Dwejra and Victoria Lines are a line of fortifications that extend 12 km over Malta and were built in the 19th century. As you keep walking you will pass through the Speranza Valley and Speranza chapel. Further on, the Dwejra country walk takes you to the village of Mosta and it is a must that you visit the magnificent Mosta Dome. In Mosta there are all the facilities that you need such as restaurants, banks, police station and public transport.

The Dwejra country walk will take more or less 4 to 5 hours to complete and is 10 km long.
