Marsalforn Bay

Marsalforn is one of the most popular beaches in Gozo, providing an ideal place to swim, sunbathe and enjoy the Mediterranean climate

Marsalforn is the largest and most developed seaside resort in Gozo with plenty of restaurants, hotels and cafes. During summers, Marsalforn pulses with life, as many families from Malta and Gozo have summerhouses here and spend the whole season by the sea. The traditional Maltese Luzzu fishing boats give Marsalforn Bay a charming and cosy feel and they also provide the restaurants in the bay with fresh seafood.

The sandy beach in Marsalforn Bay is quite small, but it is clean and safe for swimming even though it connects to a small harbour on one side of the bay. Children like the beach as it is protected from winds and it has shallow waters. Marsalforn Bay offers additional bathing opportunities in the surrounding rocky coastline on the left side of the bay up to Santa Marija point, with less people. If you are looking for good snorkelling spot, the other side of Marsalforn Bay behind Il-Menqa up to Ghar Qawqla point is a perfect place to dive in for a relaxing swim or snorkelling. Marsalforn beach offers water sports and boat trips around Gozo and Comino for the more adventurous visitors.
