Rabat Parish Church

History of Rabat Parish Church

The parish church of Rabat is built over the grotto where it is said that St. Paul was kept prisoner during his three months stay in Malta in 60 A.D and over the ditch of the Roman city. The present church was built with plans prepared by F. Bonamico and only thanks to the funds given by the noble woman Guzmana Navarra. The parish church of Rabat is dedicated to St. Paul and was finished in 1683 by Lorenzo Gafà.
