The History of Ghaxaq Parish Church

The parish church of Ghaxaq is dedicated to the the Assumption of the Virgin Mary into heaven and was built in 1655. Before the present church another smaller church was standing in the same place until the people of the village decided to build the new church when Ghaxaq became a parish in 1626.
