Qawra Parish Church

History of Qawra Parish Church

As the population in Qawra grew, the current chapel dedicated to St Massimiliano Kolbe was not large enough to cater for all the residents and the new church, designed by the Architect Richard England, was finished in 1996. The new parish church of Qawra is dedicated to St Francis of Assisi and Qawra became a parish by a Decree dated December 8th 2004.
