Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Visit Fgura during the festa and celebrate with the locals

The Feast of  Our Lady of Mount Carmel is celebrated annually in the town of Fgura in the south of Malta. For several days in July, the town is fully decorated in colourful lights, statues and other street decorations that bring a vibrant atmosphere to Fgura. Brass band marches take place all over the town every evening on the days prior to the festa. These are usually accompanied by traditional fireworks, which light up the skies with beautiful colours. 

On the day of the feast of the  Our Lady of Mount Carmel, there is a procession around Fgura with the titular statue followed by brass bands and a crowd of devotees. A great display of fireworks concludes the feast as the procession returns back to the church.
