Watch the live broadcasting of Maria Stuarda

Maria Stuarda by Gaetano Donizetti will be screened as part of the Met Opera 2012-13 programme right here in Malta. A broadcast of the live performance will be held on 7th January at 19:00 and an HD recorded screening on 9th March at 19:00.

The director of last season’s Met premiere of Anna Bolena, David McVicar, will be directing the company premiere of the second opera in Donizetti’s famous trilogy of operas about Tudor history.

Maria Stuarda is very different from Donizetti’s other operas and in this opera we will see more of a visual style which is freer. Maria Stuarda is also rather reflecting the romantic nature of the retelling of the story than the history.

Maria Stuarda is a great event which gives you the opportunity to watch the opera screened live in Valletta, and make you feel as if you were actually at the Met Opera.
