London-based Company brings a contemporary British classic to Malta. Set in 1967, A Day in the Death of Joe Egg by Peter Nichols is about a young couple's attempts at coping with their daughter's disabilities. This dark, but very funny comedy sees the couple using fantasy and humour to try to bring joy into their daughter�s and their own lives, despite the prejudices of both friends and family. Previous reviews of the play have described it as a cauterising blend of pain and laughter, a daringly experimental play, which constantly breaches the "fourth wall" between actors and audience, and draws heavily on the tradition of stand-up and vaudeville.
