London-based Company brings a contemporary British classic to Malta.
Set in 1967, A Day in the Death of Joe Egg by Peter Nichols is about a young couple's attempts at coping with their daughter's disabilities.
This dark, but very funny comedy sees the couple using fantasy and humour to try to bring joy into their daughter’s and their own lives, despite the prejudices of both friends and family.
Previous reviews of the play have described it as a cauterising blend of pain and laughter, a daringly experimental play, which constantly breaches the "fourth wall" between actors and audience, and draws heavily on the tradition of stand-up and vaudeville. All together an exciting and stimulating piece of theatre.
