The Misunderstanding (Le Malentendu) is one of Albert Camus' most intriguing plays. A widowed mother (Jane Marshall) and her daughter (Sharon Bezzina) share a common dream: the desire to retire in peace next to the sea. This desire is so strong that they are ready to do anything, even accomplishing the most immoral of deeds in the hotel that they run. A few days before they achieve their dream, a new visitor (Stefan Farrugia) turns up. Both mother and duaghter "feel" that this visitor is somehow different. But there is so much more than meets the eye. The Misunderstanding (translated by Graham Ley) will be directed by Albert Marshall at the theatre of St James on the 20, 21 and 22 November at 8pm. The cast also includes Karen Magro and Philip Mizzi.
