Gozo - Nadur Parish Church

Information and history of Nadure parish church in Gozo

Nadur is the most populated village in Gozo know for its colorful carnival held each year. The Nadur parish church was built in 1760 and is dedicated to  the apostles Saints Peter and Paul. The facade of the Nadur parish church and the aisles were designed by Francesco Saverio Sciortino and build in the beginning of the 20th century.


Nadur church was consecrated on 12 May 1867,  became  Archipresbyteral 26 years later in 1893 and earned the title of Basilica on 26 June 1967. If you are visiting Gozo make sure that you stop by the beautiful The Nadur parish church! Don't forget to admire the fantastic paintings on the dome and on the ceiling portraying the lives of  Saints Peter and Paul and the lovely marble covering the church.
